Kelda employs around 3,600 colleagues, around 2,200 of whom work for Yorkshire Water and around 570 work for Loop Customer Management Limited.

We aspire to attract, develop and retain the best people and the focus we place on appointing the right people for the right roles means we work hard to develop first-rate recruitment and selection practices. In 2007, we launched a new e-recruitment system which has transformed the way candidates apply for positions and streamlined our administrative processes. The aim is to provide a positive experience for internal and external candidates when exploring opportunities and applying for roles with us online.

Investment in people through training and personal development remains a high priority. In 2007, we repeated our popular Career Development Workshop, enabling colleagues to explore and develop their life goals. Whilst the main focus was on career, other areas covered include the importance of balancing work, home and family life. We also held a very sucessful diversity conference which was attended by over 300 colleagues and external delegates.

What’s next?

We will continue to develop a culture of ‘Think Safety First’ and alongside new information and consultation forums for all colleagues we will further improve all our other two way internal communication channels.
